Tools > Space Savers
Off Screen
Off-screen space savers are great for de-cluttering a page while retaining content for those who want more. They also add an element of user interaction, which can be satisfying and puts your visitor into ‘discovery mode’.
TOOLTIPS
A tooltip is information that appears when you hover over something. The Global Tooltip widget can be applied to pretty much any widget or container. Neat! The tutorial is here. If you just want to add a tooltip to an image, then we suggest using the Preview Window widget instead because this has far more features, including the ability to use a template for the tooltip. The tutorial is here.
pop-up box
You know when you’ve just landed on a site and a split second later, a box appears, usually offering a discount if you sign up to a mailing list? Well, that’s a pop-up box, also known as a modal box (but different to an alert box. For that, see the Space Savers > On Screen page.) A pop-up box can be triggered on page-load but it can also be triggered by a button, so it can be handy for inviting user interaction if they want extra information. You can use the PAE Modal Box or the UAE Modal Popup Box.
off-canvas
Choose from two off-canvas widgets: PAE or UAE. You can use a template for the content that appears in the off-canvas section, and in that template you can place a menu. Some menu styles allow for vertical arrangements.
