Tools > Global Effects
Other Features
The list below is not exhaustive when it comes to other global effects. We encourage you to explore all the specific global features available for any container or widget when that widget is chosen. (Look to the left at the ‘Content’, ‘Style’ and ‘Advanced’ tabs in Elementor’s page design view.)
mouse cursor
This effect will let you choose what the mouse looks like over different sections of the page. It can also apply animated effects like buzzing or pulsing. Keep in mind that those on mobile phones and tablets will not be using a mouse. More details here.
floating effects
Floating effects don’t just allow an item to move horizontally or vertically, they can also change an item’s opacity, rotation and other features. More details here.
display conditions
Display conditions allow you to show/hide content based on the various factors such as time, date, user’s IP location, browser and operating system. If you only want to change how content looks across different screen widths (desktop, tablet portrait and mobile), then display conditions should not be your first design choice. Use responsive settings instead. For more on how to use display conditions, see here.
mask
A mask is basically a shape, through which something can be seen – sort of like a window. You can use pre-set shapes or upload an image to use its shape. Note that the image will need to have a transparent background and therefore needs to be in PNG or SVG format (not JPG).
wrapper link
We all know that you can link a button or word within text – but this feature lets you add a hyper-link to just about any widget or container.
equal heights
Imagine you have 3 containers side by side on a page, each with a different background, as if in a columns. Each one has some text in it but the paragraphs don’t end at exactly the same point down the page so some columns are shorter than others. It would look neater if they were all the same height and that’s where this feature comes in handy. Place all those 3 containers inside 1 parent container, then use the equal height feature of that parent container.
motion effects
Motion effects allow you to set the entrance animation of a widget or container. If you wish to use scrolling motion effects, use magic scroll. If you wish to mouse motion effects, use parallax effect.
transform
Transform settings allow you to change the appearance of an item, such as its scale or angle. You can flip it horizontally or vertically or skew or offset it. The best part about this feature is that you can change the appearance on hover so the item becomes interactive with the viewer. Another way to transform something is to use the hover effect on a background image, as explained here.
border
Border settings are straightforward, allowing you to add different borders to a container or widget. A useful thing to know is that even if you don’t display a border, you can change the shape of a container by specifying the border radius (how the corners look – square or curved). We think 20px provides a nice soft corner.
responsive settings
Good web design will accommodate different screen widths (desktop, tablet and mobile). We do this by adjusting things like container settings, padding and direction. Sometimes that isn’t enough though. For example, the Multi Scroll tool works on wider screens but not on mobiles, where it is static – and you’d rather present something that’s more exciting take its place in mobile views. This is where responsive settings come in, by allowing you to show or hide a container or widget based on device width. Note that if you want to show/hide something based on other factors (such as user’s location or day of the week), use display conditions. You can read more about responsive design here.
party propz
Party propz can add some fun to a site. It’s especially useful if you use your own image, keeping in mind that images with transparency will need to be in PNG (not JPG) format. If you can’t see the party propz option under the Advanced tab, please let us know so we can enable it for you.
global badge
The global badge allows you to draw attention to something with words like “Last chance”.
